HARRISBURG – High school seniors can now apply for a Pennsylvania House of Representatives Scholarship to help cover the costs of higher education, Rep. Tom Creighton (R-Lancaster) announced today.

HARRISBURG – To ensure that necessary repairs can be made to local water infrastructure, Reps. John Bear (R-Lancaster) and Tom Creighton (R-Lancaster) led efforts in the state House today so that a proportion of the money from a new Marcellus Shale impact fee proposal could be set aside for repairs to aging dams in Pennsylvania and other flood control projects. Despite their attempts, Bear and Creighton were disappointed that the amendment to the legislation failed.

HARRISBURG – In an effort to improve the safety of teen drivers on Pennsylvania roads, Gov. Tom Corbett this week signed into law legislation to update Pennsylvania’s Graduated Driver’s Licensing (GDL) law, said Rep. Tom Creighton (R-Lancaster), a co-sponsor of the legislation.

MANHEIM – Rep. Tom Creighton (R-Lancaster), majority chairman of the House Local Government Committee, hosted a hearing Thursday in Manheim to discuss legislation that would set population limits for privately operated correctional centers and transitional housing for inmates. Currently, Pennsylvania law does not provide bed limits for such facilities.
